brewery workers fight for rights  (United States)

luckily, this isn't a likely scenario for homebrewers.

The thought of not being able to help themselves to their company's product throughout the day is too much for employees at Carlserg, Denmark's largest brewer. What was once seen as one of the nicest perks of working in the industry has now become a thing of the past. At least at Carlsberg, where the refrigerators holding the suds were turned off and employees were limited to "three pint-sized plastic cups from a dining hall during lunch hour," reports the Wall Street Journal. Hundreds of workers went on strike to protest the new policy, which upends a tradition that has been in place for a century. Most big breweries around the world have phased out drinking on the job, but it's standard practice in Denmark. Still, if Carlsberg succeeds in keeping its new policy other breweries in the country are likely to follow suit.
