Mary hosted a brew session at her & Jim's house on Sunday.  The weather was great, the food was fantastic, and the company was fun!  Attending were Lizzie & Rick H, Becky, Dave, & Ben M, Marv Z, Gail & Mark-brewing neighbors, and myself.  Mark grilled, Jim bartended, Rick brought along some of his own & a commercial mead, and Dave added several of his homebrews to the mix.  The ladies brewed a Brewer's Best Cream Ale kit.  We used Vanguard hops & California Ale yeast.  We will split it when it goes into the secondary; and add a vanilla bean to 1 of the carboys.  We can then enter 1 batch as a Cream Ale, and 1 batch as a specialty beer.

Update on the girls brew.   It's kegged and carbonated.  I will be bottling on Sunday.  Entries aren't excepted until September 26th so I will send them in when I return from vacation.  The vanilla cream ale smells great.    Keep your fingers crossed.
